Our goal was to create a facility where children feel comfortable and can develop freely. We are a small family business: founder Christine Rinkens, a qualified social educator, oversees the educational and administrative responsibilities. Daughter-in-law Anna Reppa serves as the contact person for organizational questions and is an educational specialist.

Montessori as a pedagogical focus
Above-average staff-to-child ratio
The foundation of our educational work at Zwergenwiese is based on the insights of Maria Montessori. The Montessori triad is a key component of our work with children: development and learning in a prepared environment through independent activity, supported by a sensitive, mindful, and respectful relationship with adults, while considering sensitive periods.
Our team of 30 is the heart of Zwergenwiese. We value a respectful, collegial, and joyful work environment. To ensure that our educators can support each child individually, each group is staffed with three professionals. Regular training and external supervision help our team continuously grow and develop.
The Zwergenwiese is open from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The drop-off time is in the morning between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM.
Die Bringzeit ist morgens zwischen 7:30 und 9 Uhr.
In the creche, there are a maximum of 12 children per group, supervised by 3 educators. In the kindergarten, there are a maximum of 23 children per group, also supervised by 3 educators.
We work according to the principles of Maria Montessori: We place special emphasis on the attitude towards the child, considering sensitive (developmental) phases and a prepared environment.
We have approximately 22 closure days per year. We are closed during the Christmas holidays, one week of the Pentecost holidays, and on 10 weekdays in summer. Additionally, there are planning days, possible bridging days, and a company outing. The exact dates will be announced at the beginning of the KITA year.
In the creche, we care for children aged 6 months to 3 years, and in the kindergarten, the children are aged 3 to 6 years. Admission of children under 3 can be arranged upon consultation.
